I am so glad I read these! I was only buying it so my daughter could do Messenger Kids. I will go with something else. That is insane that its from Facebook and wont support that.

Thank you everyone on this thread!!!! I’ve been contacting support via email asking over the past year for messenger kids on portal!!! Which is the whole reason I bought the portal was for the children to talk to family instead of using my phone!!!

A year and a half since the creation of this thread. You’d think Facebook would have figured out a way to support Messenger Kids by now. I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said here...just trying to keep it relevant!

Bought this for grandma, now she can't call or message the kids. What's the point?!?! Returning and finding another option.

It's just INDECENT that this product is marketed as a way to keep kids connected to grandparents and so forth and then they can't use their Messenger Kids account where their friends are. It's also very inconvenient to have to worry about the portal in their room and them accidentally messaging a parent's friends.

I bought my Portal for the main reason of video calling my granddaughter who is had FB Kids Messenger because she is too young for a FB account. I'm extremely disappointed to discover that Kids Messenger isn't supported on Portal! Please fix that!

I got portal to talk with my grandson, now get it and find that I cant talk to him from portal because he has messenger kids. Please add messenger kids to portal.

I also got the portal for the grandparents and SO disappointed that messenger kids doesn't work. Please add a FB kids messenger integration. Even if it's just the ability to answer in Portal a call from the FB kids messenger app.

Please consider adding Messenger Kids in Portal or releasing a Kids version of Portal. For kids of separated parents or for grandparents, it would do wonders to help kids feel less isolated.

Absolutely agree. Just got Facebook portal for my daughter to have in her room in her mom's house and Facebook Portal TV for my living room, so we can chat and I can read her stories, with her having to use her mom's phone or ipad and see just the top of her head or her ceiling when she puts the phone down. Quite disappointing. It would be a great tool for parents and children who are separated. I'd imagine the only alternative is to setup a Facebook account for her and add myself as her only friend and set up her Portal device with that account. Though would be nice for her to use with her friends in a walled-off environment, as she would with Messenger Kids.

I bought this for my daughter for the sole purpose of her being able to video chat with her friends. Very disappointed that a Facebook product can’t even get kids messenger that is also a Facebook product. I’m ready to return it if I can’t ********* there.

Yes! I would dearly love to see my grandbabies, they both have Messenger Kids. I haven't seen them in weeks during our isolation. This seems like a great integration to allow grandparents talk with their under 13 grandkids. All the safety protocols are already in place

I agree, please add this ASAP! Our kids desperately want to stay connected with friends and family during lock down. It is causing too many issues to have the kids using my FB account on the portal and would love for them to have their own profiles!
