Come on portal - get with the times and think of or seniors . The only way I can communicate with my Dad with dementia is if he has auto answer

You might as well just set up an Echo Show on your whoevers home and use that.

I understand what you are saying and it does work. I have a Portal and an Echo Show sitting on a table in front of my wife. If I hear a call coming in on the portal, I drop in and shout Portal Answer through the show and it does cause the portal to answer.

I don't know why we can't get some kind of response on this issue from the Facebook/Portal people. They need to say something.

Hi heres an idea, if you het an echo dot and register it at your adress on your amazon account,.you can then place it near the portal at your parents/whoevers house/carehome it doesnt have to be located at your address, and broadcast the message to it " hey portal answer" when you call the portal, the portal will then accept the call.

I returned all 3 portals from all three rooms from grandma house realizing that these don’t have auto answer feature; I later read up and saw excuses that it’s a security issue- where other like Skype has successfully implemented it, lame facecrap- what was i expecting

Also, for Portal TV. I suggest a feature were the folks are watching tv, a person calls and the tv alerts of the call. Otherwise portal has to be on as well as the tv on that input in order to call etc. What is the point of the tv other than a big screen.

I'd like to see Auto Answer as well, as my mum doesn't see the light flashing on the portal TV, nor hear the voice prompt over the volume of her TV. I was told by the sales assistant there was a pop up on the TV, but clearly he needs additional training....

BTW, I don't seen any response from Facebook on here, so are they actually listening to anyone's comments?

My grandma loves her portal but she is too slow to get to the device to answer. Please add this feature!

Yes please. Somehow my dad managed to turn off the ringing because he touches everything and now the device no longer rings. I think this device should not only have an auto-answer option, but remote control (a simple hand-held device just to answer) or remote desktop help for troubleshooting. As family can upload pictures into the frame remotely, they should be able to configure and troubleshoot via a mobile app as well.

Hey, I can't believe something that is very helpful for old people is not present anywhere in the portal configuration! This feature is a must or at least enable Alexa for calling/answering not only to talk simple things. I was thinking on buying an Echo Show because I need a simple and easy way to communicate with my mom in a wheel chair and I thought Portal was a better option because it has the portal photo and other things but after testing it I am really disappointed with the lack of an auto answer... Please add!!

Please add auto answer and remote support. My elderly mother in law needs my help and this is her only lifeline to socialization.
