Move the self-view window during a call
Allow users to move the self view window to another part of the screen.
As always, thanks so much to everyone who voted for this idea! As part of a recent software update, the ability to move the self-view window during a call has been added to Portal, Potal+, and Portal Mini devices. Simply touch your self-view and drag it to another corner of the screen! As this functionality is not available on Portal TV at this time, we will be marking this idea as started. Thanks and enjoy!

The self camera is locked in the upper left corner of the TV. I would like to be able to move it so that it’s not covering people so annoying

Our tv does not ha e a touch screen. On one call if some moved behind the self screen it faded but on the next call it did not. How do you control that?

My original post was incorrect. I thought it moved, but it was the Echo that I was thinking of. Sorry for the confusion. Yes this feature should be available as well as the drop in feature. As just about everyone has pointed out, we've been asking for these two features for a long time. And now that these type of devices are more of a necessity than a luxury Facebook's tech teem really needs to get started on them.

YES PLEASE DO THIS. I would love to remove it altogether. Since the camera follows you it really is not necessary

At least allow us to move the window. So many times, the window is covering the face of a person behind it. In group video calls of 3 or 4 participants, the left side is completely blocked.

i would like this so to move the self window under the camera...it tricks the eye of the callers into feeling "closer" as their eye movements line up a little more.

We are very pleased so far with the portal. It is just this one thing that is a little frustrating. We have the portal to chat with my sister in America. She has a 21 month old daughter, who moves around a lot . She doesn’t understand that she has to stay in one place. When using the phones or tablets, you can just drag the self view window out of the way. So fingers crossed that this is fixed soon.

And yes I am going to post this on each relevant comment and will do so on a regular basis until this issue is resolved. The squeaky wheel gets the grease! -

Provide a means to move the self-view PIP, or remove it altogether.

I’d like to move or hide the small window which shows what others see during the video call on Facebook portal TV. It covers the face of the people I want to talk to, particularly with multiparty calls.
