I've discovered this capability is effectively back -- and perhaps never left? I'm able to instantly transfer active calls between Portal and Messenger, by initiating a call to the contact I'm already connected to, from the second device I want to transfer to. This has worked from Portal to mobile, and mobile to Portal.

Ditto why has this feature gone. Just bought a portal tv for my parents found it does not have zoom or this feature. They are not very mobile why can’t you put this back? Microsoft Teams has it

Please bring this back, so much harder to use now! This was one of the reasons I bought it before knowing it was removed for some reason.

Any thoughts on why they disabled that option? So they can sell more portals? They want us to buy a portal for every nook in the house?

It sucks that now The person calling has to let the phone ring for minutes while I get to my Portal. Its great that as long as I have my phone I can be somewhere in the house where I can hear the portal and if I cant get to it I can answer on the phone. To then use the portal after answering on phone I tell the person that I will go to the portal hang up and call back however this is not useful for group calls. This is my workaround to a previously OUSTANDING but now crippled feature NICE WORK FACEBOOK !!!!!!!

This is so frustrating. This is why we pre ordered our portals. It has been so frustrating that this feature just disappeared. If we can’t transfer there is no reason to have multiple portals let alone one. I could just video chat from my phone or iPad.

Please bring this back.

Having this work through WhatsApp either would be useful.

I agree with everyone else, this used to be a HUGE deciding factor for buying the portal, and now my portal is never in a convient location for when I"m receiving calls. BRING IT BACK

This was a great feature when the portal was first released. I miss it now more than ever since we have two portals in the house and i can no longer transfer to my phone and then go connect to the other portal. It would encourage others to maybe purchase more than one portal too. This was, I think, one of the best features that was offered.

Just got the Portal+ and I seriously need this functionality. I’m moving around the house from room to room or need to leave the house, but want to keep the person on video chat without needing to hang up and call them back.

I was an early Portal plus adopter as my wife is 2500mi away. I bought two as they were rolling-out a year ago. The FB IM app for both IOS and Android and the Portal offered transfer support to/fro the REO during a call. It was, and is, an indispensable feature for my wife and I. Since we basically live on FB IM in order to spend time with one another, and neither Portal is portable, the phone transfer function is critical! There is a three hour time zone difference, and I am in bed and up early, complicating the matter. My wife has PTSD/TBI from past military service, and feels uncomfortable if I don’t watch over her as she sleeps. I need to be able to transfer to/fro Portal in order to “take her with me” when I can’t be on the Portal. It’s a major hassle to have to hang up and “re-dial” the vid call in order to transfer to either device. When she’s sleeping, obviously, she cannot answer the “new call”. Since this function existed prior, and disappeared some time ago during a regular FB IM app update, it shouldn’t be a big deal to add it back! I realize it could be buggy, but it plain worked, for the most part. PLEASE restore this feature! It’s loss has rendered the Portals much less useful then when I bought them.

Been looking for this option so I can continue the call in another room if needed..online I've seen people say it was possible. This feature used to be there and was removed??

I just bought the Portal Mini and can make outgoing video calls from the Portal. HOWEVER I couldn't receive video calls on the Portal. I had to uninstall messenger from my phone and THEN I could receive calls on the Portal.

This would be a great feature. Often, I'm in a part of the house or garden with my phone and can answer a call. If I want to continue the call on the portal, I have to hang up and call the person back from the portal

The fact that this option is no longer available renders owning a Portal USELESS! Having this spy device in our home was only tolerable for that reason and that reason only. Now there is no reason. We deserve our money back.
