Portal TV remote mic as hand microphone
Ok so... my idea is simple, I know there already 8 microphones, and I know it’s working well. But I think having the possibility to use the remote as a proximity mic can be very useful. When you want to whisper or maybe your living room is so big that having the remote in your hand or chest pocket will help to increase the audio quality.

I have bought a Portal TV for my father who has Parkinson's disease, his ability to speak is greatly reduced by muscular tension in his mouth and throat. he can gesture, thumbs up wave smile etc. but his voice is extremely quiet. I truly believed that the remote-control mic would work all the time and be sensitive to speech for the user when on a call, I don't see why it shouldn't be. Bit disappointed to be honest. I guess he'll have to carry on making a phone call and taking over the phone while he gestures using the Portal TV. It's a thumbs down from me and my dad!!!!!!

Mic on Portal TV remote is going to be a great convenience as currently it requires users to be a bit loud. It does not facilitate whisper like easy conversation.

I totally agree. My mom does not speak loud enough to hear and cannot get any louder due to illness
