Remote Control Redesign - Accessibility
The remote control is all black against a black background - come on FB - how is this accessible to people with sight issues? Whilst I appreciate that there is a voice assistant built in, if you are going to provide a remote control, please at least make sure that it is visible and comfortable for users.
The power button not being at the top is daft - this is where one would expect a standby button. The arrows being dipped makes it difficult to use the buttons above without staring at the remote.
A remote should be usable without looking and the indentation should be such that a blind or partially sighted person should be able to feel their way around and know what button they are pressing.
I think you possibly found that you could not make the text white as it would look too much like the Amazon Firestick TV remote (likely patented) - there are other ways to make the remote different than to make the button functionality invisible..
I also second other poster's ideas that replacement remotes should be available and I'd add that they should not cost the earth..

I agree with this. My Dad had a stroke and has impaired vision as well as speech problems so cannot use the voice assistant function at all. The portal should allow him to connect with friends as he is confined to a care home but the size and labelling of the remote makes this very difficult.
