PLEASE make Portal compatible with Google Meet
I am an educator. As you know, nearly all school related meetings during the pandemic have been done remotely. Our school system uses Google Meet as a platform for all remote engagements.
After being gifted a Portal (which we are generally enjoying) I spent a good part of this afternoon trying to get it to work with Google Meet. I can go to the site from my Google Calendar, but I am unable to join the meeting because the microphone and camera are blocked - and no amount of fussing with various settings has changed the situation.
I have since learned from a tech support chat that Portal does not currently support Google meet. REALLY?!?
This is a total bummer for me, as the screen is twice the size of my little laptop screen and it's a way better camera and image.
I hope you will please find a way to provide the Portal with working access to Google Meetings for those of whose jobs would greatly benefit.
Thank you!

Google Meet is now the second largest video conferencing platform by market share. Why would you not include this one before any others after Zoom?

We really need this!

How can you not support Google Meet?
Google Meet takes third place most popular VC in the world with 21 countries choosing it as their go-to application. It is number two in the US and Canada. The platform dominates in many southeast Asian countries, such as Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

I do virtual tutoring and my set up at my desk is my monitor which I screen share for my students and would love to be able to use my large Portal Plus screen to see my students. Is there any update regarding the use of the webcam and microphone from the portal for google meetings?

I primarily use my Portal for work calls. While we do use Zoom/MS Teams, these are just 20% of our calls - the remaining 80% of the calls happen through Google Meet and the lack of support is a serious lack of functionality. Please add support for Google Meet on Facebook Portal tablet/TV.

Please enable functionality to use Google Meet. Portal is a fantastic device, but without Google Meet functionality I will but unable to use it on a day-to-day basis. What's the timeline to support this?

I switched companies, now I am all google meet - and now my Portal just sits there and looks at me sadly. I think I am going to sell it on ebay as I only use it for video calls - when will you support google meet?

I'm sure there must be some issues politically preventing facebook from adding such a much-needed feature on their portal TV devices. I'm pretty sure if they just enabled a browser functionality within the protal TV this will open up much more users to buy this little nice device. I hope they will listen to their users and make this a reality as technically it should not be hard to enable this tomorrow

My role in our school's supervisory district requires monthly remote meetings. It is school policy to use only Google Meets for these remote interactions. I really appreciate my FB Portal for group zoom meetings and find my laptop frustrating for the Google Meets meetings.
PLEASE make FB Portal compatible with Google Meets! -

or pls enable camera / microphone access to your browser. I use Portal TV (big fan!) but limiting to only Zoom / GoTo Meetings is a bummer.
Not everyone uses zoom - google is much more widely available and easier to connect for small group calls.

We installed Portal TV in a small meeting room in our office. It works great for zoom calls but probably we'll have to get rid of it due to lack of Google Meet support (our business uses Google Workspace)

I totally agree with this request. Google meetup is much easy for students to connect than zoom. Google meetup does not requires a bigger data load thus it is cheaper to connect and use it using prepaid wifi connection. thankz
