Issue: Portal user interface is simple but not simple enough for most elderly people. Navigating the interface, joining a messenger room is a struggle and using applications or updating settings is next to impossible for them. And I don't even mention the scan of the QR code to link a WhatsApp account! All these manipulations are a real source of stress and distraught for them: "oh, I am so bad with these kind of things".
Potential solution: enable one or several contacts (family members) to take control of the Portal device remotely: updating settings but also answering calls, joining a messenger room, installing an application, etc.
Note that this solution does not prevent you from working on an alternative user interface adapted to elderly people (big buttons, bigger text, no slide gestures, no code to type, etc...)
