I support this idea. We use the Portal to communicate with my mother-in-law who is 87. It would be nice to have a calender with several view options, including a daily view with large fonts so she can see the day, date, month and a list of reminders such as medication, or visiting care givers. We could have the calender view in place of the super-frame when not using the portal. Or even have the calender view as part of the super-frame, appearing after every fourth or fifth picture.
Or at least make it easier to answer by displaying a single, large, button to touch. Also, give the option to control what is on the home screen. for example, remove clutter by eliminating "recent", and just displaying favorites. Also, allow the option to prevent scrolling. If my mother-in-law accidently swipes from the home screen to the app screen, she gets lost.
