BRING YOUR DOCTOR OR NURSES' CONSULT AFTER HOURS, DIRECTLY TO YOU WHEN YOU ARE SICK. BRING COMPANIONSHIP BACK TO SENIORS, THE SICK AND THE BEDRIDDEN OR HOMEBOUND. HAVE A CAREGIVER OR ADVOCATE AVAILABLE VIA THE PORTAL FOR MEDICAL SAFETY!

>Do you know how many elderly, infirmed, or disabled people like me are bedridden and live on our laptops or tablets trying to make human connections with the outside world? I am one. Been bedridden fro 14 years. No longer receive visitors, but with the Portal + it would bring the human experience of actual human contact (something that people are known to die from lack of) and companionship. A set of Portals would be required. Reduce the price for Disabled People. Put a real human face on your new Portal Product! Show you care how it could help the Disabled, Elderly those that are homebound or bedridden. Offer a special price for us. Since I can't drive, i would be able to safely keep an eye on my Elderly Mother. My twin sister (my only contact) who also cannot drive, would be able to communicate and check on me on a daily basis! If patents are a problem, add a new version of Med Alert Portals. One at your Primary's call number where the P.A. Doctor, or Nurse can actually see you as you call.... noting skin discoloration, rashes, etc... even have you run thru the STROKE acronyms one of which is smiling to see if you've possibly had a stroke. Electronic Medical Uses are Unlimited to the imagination and could be a reality with the use of Portals like yours. I've listed two seperate demographics for which the technology exists within your own product and by marketing to Physician's offices or after-hours care as one.... give a discount to those of us bedridden with disabilities who otherwise would have no human contact whatsoever! Show that Facebook is still on the "Cutting Edge" of communication, and show you have humanity's best interest at heart with your new products! Right now, the "New" Portals are too expensive for those of us who thought the first thing we would see with the technological "boom" would be Video Phone Calls (and us elderly cannot see or use smartphones with those teeny buttons and small screen not to mention the data costs and monthly charges.) Giving the disabled a discount so they can afford the ability to have human contact... might just add years to their lives and much better quality! Even having personal portals that Nursing Home patients and Hospital patients could have their advocate right there bedside, to ask the Doctor questions about your conditions or just to keep you company during a scarey and difficult time..... I can think of so many real everyday uses for your Portal than just saying HI to the same person you might "Messenger" anyway. And for any of these uses to become reality... the prices really need to come down. Marketing. Not to just one demographic who probably already has in different forms or brands the same thing, is very limiting. Think of all the really important uses, and make whatever tweaks and added tech to make it a reality so those of us who really NEED something like the Portal + and get those patents... you are already falling behind considering Skype, VOIP, and the Home Hubs already out. Step it up a notch.... Isn't that what entruepenourship is really all about?

It's a great-looking new smart-home device but for its' limitations is too expensive. Facebook needs to step it up and get ahead of what this technology can do -- not follow behind. It's hardly original to be nice. Keep up new patents for new uses and market to more than one demographic. The Homebound, Home Safety, Medical Applications, Want a Patient Advocate or Far away relative -- with you when the Doctor explains everything, Companionship and Caregiving Assistants at the touch of a finger or a voice...People die from no human contact. The Portal could be the difference between dying from loneliness and having easy access for visits from the Grandchildren, an old friend, or another family member who can't be with you physically.
