I have the same issue for my mother. That is one of the main reasons i purchased the portal TV

I'd love to get my Mom a Portal TV device but the lack of live captions make it unlikely to work with
her because of her severe hearing loss.
We are using Skype with great success except that she is uncomfortable operating a laptop, where
the Portal would be within her tech abilities.
PLEASE add live captions, in the way that Skype already does!. Thanks.

My elderly mom who is severely hearing impaired would benefit so much from closed captioning.

Closed captioning in FB Portal would add a critical function for a lot of users who love the simplicity of FBPortal!

Your product is great for the elderly except I really need a way to either have live closed captioning or to be able to type in messages to show up on her screen when she cannot understand what I am saying, which is often. thanks!

Having CC would make a huge difference to the lots of hard-of-hearing in the community, so please give it a go Facebook, to make your Portal more inclusive.

Yes! My mother is partially deaf and now with COVID it would be great to do video chats with an easy to manage device. Close captioning would really enable her to communicate fully with us.
