I purchased my Portal to allow my brother to easily receive recorded calls and videos from his friends and family. My brother has ALS, is fully paralyzed, and rarely can leave his bedroom. His friends often want to send him recorded videos to cheer him up, so I bought him a Portal for this. It turns out he can only receive live video calls through his portal. If a friend sends him a recorded video, there is no way to receive that video and watch it. This was extremely surprising, as he should be able to see all of his Facebook messages from the device -- especially recorded videos. It is very strange because you can send someone a recorded video through a Portal, but you cannot receive recorded videos? Very strange. Please add this functionality!

Hey, but we actually get all calls without the person knowing we have a portal !
And for chat messages, I totally agree ! You could, now, use the web app of Facebook messenger 😉 I tested it and it works !
