Allow camera and microphone access from browser
This would also solve quite a few other suggestions. We should be able to use the camera and microphone from the browser !!!

Is anyone even monitoring these ? The issue is open for over 3+ years.

I understand the privacy concerns that Facebook might have with 3rd party sites having access to the microphone and camera, at the same time though this restrictions seems very arbitrary and severely limits the device's potential.
I was severely disappointed with this limitation, and I have 3 Portal Plus devices with me that are not going to work for my initial purpose.
Could we at the very least have that option inside Chromium's Site Settings so that more advanced users can manually enable this? Add a huge warning when someone tries to enable the feature in that site! But please let at least more advanced users use their devices as they see fit.
Thanks

I will return it for sure. Sorry but blocking audio and video in a browser ofa high tech camera??? That's a deal breaker... Just got it today and couldn't be more disappointed.

I got as a gift but seems like I cannot use Teams(work) or Google Meet (family). Am I wrong on this?
I want to make sure before I return it.

I agree. As a teacher teaching remote, being able to use the camera and microphone would make it a powerful tool for work. Now, it's really just a toy for chatting with my family.

I visited a lot of educational websites and it requires turn on microphone, but it is disabled in this device. PLEASEEEE, can you turn it on?? It's very useful and helpful to me if I can have this feature

I’m a disabled Veteran, I thought I’d be able to talk to my doctors on this.

Agreed! I need this to access so I can stream from my Portal to Youtube! The camera quality is fantastic + you get the motion camera effects! This would be a game changer and turn a one dimensional product into multi-dimensional with one feature change.

Agreed, if Facebook is serious about videoconferencing hardware, it could easily become the market leader for both consumers and corporations by opening it up to the most popular videoconferencing services. The products’ design aesthetics, intuitiveness, overall quality and relatively low price blow everything else out of the water.
