I was looking for an easy way to encourage more communication between my 3 kids (2 teenagers and 1 tween) and me and my wife, and if FB Portal had a way to leave video-voicemail or record video-logs (like the main character Jake did in the movie Avatar) that can be viewed at a later time by another person then that would be something very useful for us. Even though we live the same house, we are all busy and the kids are always on their device and they rarely talk about very personal stuff at dinner or when we are all at home, so I wanted to give them a way to communicate with us regarding more personal or serious matters via video log via FB Portal. This would develop their video journaling habit, that would ultimately help them to communicate.

Also my parents live in different time zone than us and it would be very useful if we can leave video-vm at a convenient time for us that they can retrieve at a convenient time for them and vice-versa.

I would personally pay extra for vm or video journalling service.
