The portal can split screen I assume- (i.e. make up to 8 calls at once) but when calling family I should be able to see who’s at my video doorbell or check on my kids security camera without switching the video call, or check cameras and still have pandora playing in the corner, etc. I would also hope this could just be a software update and not require the purchase of a whole new device to integrate
