Let it record your conversation so you can watch later.
I teach and speak to small groups. I NEED it to be able to record the conversation so I can watch afterwards or share with others! Is there a possibility of that coming? People would LOVE it!

Needs much more Alexa and app support an
I need portal to support device groups through Alexa or I am taking a step back in home tech. I have many echo devices I my home and this was to replace the hub but it does not. Also needs to support Ring Video doorbell as well as other home hub devices. I plan on returning my portal until and unless these features are supported.

Photos disappear when music restarts
Suddenly, when my music turns off and I need to restart it, the album cover and play progress stays on the screen instead of a quick album shot and then a return to my Superframe photos. So I need to manually return to my photos every single time. It's a total pain and makes me dislike my Portal right now.

Stop duplicate notifications on Facebook Messenger
With Portal as well as Facebook Messenger on my phone, I get a huge number of annoying notifications I get every time I form a group, do a group video call on Portal. Messenger for iOS and Android needs an update to not annoy/attack user with notifications about Portal calls.

I want the transition functionality applied back to the portals. I bought the15.6” and 10.1” portals because I was able to transition from one to the next. Then you decide to remove the number one additional convenient feature after I spent hundreds of dollars. I feel ripped off robbed. Thank you Facebook Portal

Make it hipaa compliant
Make your product hipaa compliant. I work with healthcare systems that can have tremendous use case for this product. We were looking to purchase about 1,000 units for our patients if they were hipaa compliant.

Sign In W/ Messenger Account Only
It would be nice if users could sign into their portal using only a messenger account and not a full Facebook account. Some people only have messenger accounts as not full Facebook accounts. It doesn't make much since to be able to chat and video through messenger and then not use portal via messenger only when the video chat literally runs off messenger.

Allow audio to remain on Portal when using USB-C to HDMI out
When connecting to an external display, the audio output no longer is available on Portal. This results in a rather severe echoing problem. Solution is to allow user to keep audio out / in isolated to the Portal, while video streams to an external display.

Enable usage logging and viewing. This would work in conjunction with parental controls, so parents can keep tabs on how the portal is being used.

Volume increments are too large
also I have a small feedback to file. the increments of volume are too large.
when you ask Portal to lower the volume it either selects ~10% or zero. It should have more increments between those two volume levels. Note that it took the Google Assistant team a few tries to address this feedback as well. Volume increment discoverability is touch via ambient computing.1 vote -

Mandarin
Implement Chinese/ Mandarin in the portal languages. No other system has Mandarin and there is a huge population that speaks Mandarin.

Ce serait super d'avoir une fonction de détection de mouvement avec notification vers un autre appareil. Cela pourrait servir notamment pour indiquer qu'un enfant est rentré à la maison et qu'on peut l'appeler sur portal ! Très utile pour les parents qui travaillent tard !

Give Portal voice control over Portal apps
Portal has added some great apps, but does not provide voice control over those apps, which is very frustrating for a voice control device. If I have to tap the screen, and type in stuff, I might as well use my iPad. Please add voice control for all the Portal apps. I should be able to say, “Hey Portal, show me how to make chicken soup” and have a video pop up that does that, just like with the Google Home Hub.

Hopefully you guys correct the Facebook Live and also allow business page integration... I just purchased two of the Portal+ and I am not happy about the extremely limited features. 30 day return policy is about the only thing I'm liking right now.

Use a good compression algorithm so it can save data in low bandwidth countries
We welcome Facebook decision to use 12MP camera however Portal will be used as a communicaiton tool in some countries where bandwidth is at premium , I would like to suggest that FB uses its best compression algorithm so quality and integrity is maintained at minimum cost to end users data limit.

Allow deactivation of camera tracking feature
Would be nice to be able to have stationary camera at times. Lighting, animals, and other undetermined issues create camera drift during calls at times.

display options for teaching artists
I teach drawing. I currently use my iPad as a document camera and project image on a screen. I would like to use Portal to display what I'm doing while students sit around the table (instead of a large classroom setting). This would require the "camera" to be focused on my desk rather than toward the room. so in essence, there would be a need for an adaptor camera to be clipped to the side of the screen, facing downwards, while the display screen is a an upright angle for viewing.
