Live speech to text for my phone calls with my dad.
My dad is a baby boomer. He is hard of hearing/deaf. If my dad could read what I am saying and what others are saying in a video chat; it would literally change his life and the foundation of his relationships for the better. There are services that do this over the phone where a live person is interpreting and creating text but it isn't great and it doesn't have video. Allow Alexa's Fios skill
Generally speaking, as many others have already requests, Portal's Alexa should be fuller-featured and not "Alexa Lite". But specifically it should support Alexa's Verizon FiOS skill. Seems redundant to have to put an Echo Dot right next to my Portal so I can get at all of Alexa's offering....

Make Portal work from Business Facebook Page
I have a buisnes Facebook and a personal FB. I LOVE using my portal for business but I don't like giving my personal FB to just random people. I would much rather, if people are wanting to Video message me in buinsess it should be done from my business page and not my personal.

Give access to portal microphone from bluetooth
This would be great, in order to use the portal's amazing array of microphones and perfect speaker sound during voice calls on my cell phone !
Just like the JBL Flip speakers, which allow us to use the unit during calls, because there is a microphone on the speaker !13 votes -
Activate Self-view While Not In Call
Portal should provide a setting to activate the camera (i.e., Self View) while not in a call. This would be very useful for tasks such as framing, verifying field of view, troubleshooting, etc.

Screensaver and sleep mode
The screensaver and sleep mode isn’t kicking on when Pandora is on. Yes I realize I can manually click out, however it’s not reasonable to have develop that habit after switching a song or launching the app.

It would be nice to be able to see and speak with people clonnecting to the portal via laptop
need to connect to laptop and be able to see and hear the person you are calling on the portal. I have sound but no piture.

Add Effects from Messenger App
Put the video effects from Facebook Messenger App and put them on the Portal.
My 2yo loves them and was very sad when her favourite effects suddenly disappeared from the Portal App today.

The camera should be able to convert from a smart camera to a regular wide camera
When I video called using my portal, there were 4 people in total with me and it kept on focusing on one or two people only. If there was an option to have it be a regular camera when needed and then can be a smart camera that follows people, this would come in handy a lot.

QR Codes for Easier Setup / Login
First of all what an awesome device. The camera on this thing is incredible.
Setting this thing up and authorizing could be better. Why can't we do something like a QR code similar to WhatsApp web login? That would just make this so much easier.
