1. Voice Command Answering

   Like many on here, I have a parent with vascular dementia. Portal has been a lifesaver during quarantine, but there needs to be a voice command to answer an incoming video call. Surely, “Alexa, answer this call...” is both feasible and hugely needed!

2. Facebook Live manual camera mode.

   We are using a Portal Mini 10" to livestream worship services. It works great except for the camera tracking.
   I can enter manual mode on a call and set the shot exactly the way I want it. Please, please, please, make this possible with Facebook Live.

3. Make the portal chord longer

   We just wasted $100 on a gift for my mom in a nursing home she can't use. The portal chord is to short to reach from her bedside table to the plug and extension chords are not allowed there. Pleas stop advertising this is ideal for the elderly as this is unusable for my mom. She can't enjoy the pictures as she can't see them. Please let me know if you decide to make a longer chord so we can purchase one.

4. Add a calendar function for scheduling appointments with an audio reminder; targeting elderly parents.

   Calendar app that could be programmed (locally/remote) with doctor, hair and other appointments as well as medication reminders for elderly parents. Allow for an audio or visual reminder.

5. PROBLEM - BLACK FACE ON PORTAL STORYTIME

   There is a wonderful story on Facebook Portal's story time called ‘Grandma’s purse’ it’s a story showing a Black family and the relationship with a grandma and granddaughter, which is so amazing because we use our portal for my daughter to connect with her grandparents. However, when the story dresses you like the characters it changes your skin tone to make it darker to match the story and it is completely offensive. I love that the story dresses you up as the characters but it should not employ any technology to darken skin. This is Black face at its core and entirely inappropriate. It took us out of the story and made us not want to read the story again, which is terrible because it’s a sweet, inclusive story that should be told without controversy. Please fix this issue immediately. Do not use Black face in your apps regardless of how 'subtle'. Understand that this is an unacceptable practice. You do not need to have the same skin tone as the characters to feel a part of the story. Facebook needs to do better. Also, the fact that there is no better place for me to address this is also a problem. I submitted an issue with Portal Support and was sent here. I hope people actually check this because this needs to be acted on immediately.

8. Its disappointing to find out that to make a call on the portal you have to actually go to the portal and make the call.

   Disappointing that to make a call I have to go to the portal and make a call. I cannot make a call on my phone which links the display on the portal. On the other hand when receiving a call both my phone and the portal rings and its practical if am sitting on the sofa I can answer on my phone and it displays in the portal screen. Why can it not be the same when making a call

9. Enable saved video sharing

   I have saved videos of my children and grandchildren on FB and I cannot share them via my Portal TV with my 84yr old mother’s Portal TV. She would love to see them, especially during the current COVID lockdown - she lives 100 miles away and is on her own. Please make this happen!

10. Reinstate the automatic pictures that are shared on Portal

    I was informed that the automatic pictures on my Facebook Portal are being disabled, mine was. Our units were purchased for us to be able to connect with our children, grandchildren, and in-laws, because of COVID 19. Besides being able to easily video chat we also want to see the photos. With this option now disabled our family has lost that option. I contacted Portal and was told that some people didn't like having their shared photos on a frame. Why was the automatic share option shut down instead of having those that complained being told to no longer share their photos? I would like to return my unit for a refund since I do not have the knowledge to reprogram my Portal.

11. Disable the Screen Off function so the Portal can be a continuous picture frame

    Right now the Portal goes into sleep mode after 1 hour as that's the longest setting. Having a button to disable or enable continuous picture feeds would turn the Portal into a picture frame.

    Please add Portal TV video streaming apps such as Crave and Amazon Prime Video to all other Portal devices; currently these are only available in the web browser. Also consider adding other video streaming services such as Fibe TV, Disney+ and Netflix.

14. Control Spotify with voice, and set Spotify as default music app

    Portal should be on par with Echo when it comes to voice controlling music (and other apps). When I say "Alexa, play music" it should open up the Spotify app and continue playing music, just like it does on all my other devices. Now, all Alexa says is "this device is not supported". Also, I should be able to set Spotify as my default music app, which I currently cannot do.
    I say this as a Portal TV owner.

15. Allow voice to text messaging

    Would like to be able to say my message to someone and it go via 'messenger' converted to text.

    Would like portal to tell me that a message has come through in response to said text (say within 5 minutes - otherwise I've walked away from my portal.) and then read it to me so I can then respond again.

    Don't only want video.

16. include a contact into an existing conversation

    hi! love my portal. the only drawback is when i'm having a conversation and someone else is trying to contact me at the same time, i have to hang up with the first person in order to answer the 2nd call. would love to have a feature that i'm able to add that 2nd person to the existing call.

18. Have the option for the Story Time App to read the story to the child.

    Kids that are younger and aren't reading yet want so much for the story to be read to them. My kids love the app but aren't getting anything out of it because they can't read yet. So they're just staring at images.

19. Portal TV

    Possible bug. Portal TV does not power up TV or change the TV input to select Portal TV when originating or answering verbal commands such as "hey portal call person" or "hey portal answer". I have verified this with 2 Portal TV units on 2 different CEC capable smart TVs (LG and Visio) using 3 different HDMI cables. Same result. Portal TV was behaving as expected for over a year and quit working when latest firmware update was loaded. One Portal TV unit was purchased today, and the older unit was also factory reset and re-setup just to make sure. I used the same HDMI cable that worked for 2 years and then replaced it with 2 others just to be sure. The CEC function works because when I press a button on the Portal remote the TV wakes up and goes to the correct input. This makes me wonder if there is a firmware issue with not sending CEC codes when verbal call commands are made.

    Possible bug. Portal TV does not power up TV or change the TV input to select Portal TV when originating or answering verbal commands such as "hey portal call person" or "hey portal answer".
