Is portal getting an upgrade anytime soon to record video or do Facebook Live? This is a pretty and $$ paper weight until it does.

I Got the portal for my dad who has dementia. My brother said it up for him and we’re not using it. It works great.
People can call him with just using messenger and that’s a great thing. Dad is 91 and a little lonesome at his assisted living. It will help him to have more people to talk to.
My question is can it be set up for my business with the live streaming? I sell Young living essential oil’s and would like to do a live presentation with it.

My husband bought me Portal Plus for my business. Yes the video chat is awesome for meetings but I want to be able to go live on my business page and group page. I shouldn’t have to switch to my phone. He paid a lot of money to do just video messaging that we all can do on our smart phones. Please put the Facebook App on it as well since it is a facebook product it should have the app with live video in it
I don’t want to return it but if all I can do is message chat then what’s the point.

The entire reason I purchased mine was also for Facebook live. Couldn’t find any information that streaming wasn’t supported until the day I got it. What in the world? Why would they block one of the most obvious uses for this, especially if they want influencers to use it? Ridiculous

Purchased Portal for a small non profit to reach an audience. No Facebook live or camera access to create streaming video makes this much less useful

The whole reason for buying this portal was for Facebook live. But then opening the Box and realizing you did not have this function it was very disappointing. It would be great for businesses to use when they sell things from home and it's great to use when me and my daughter decide to do a little off the cuff cooking show for all friends and family. I was making cookies and said "this would be great moment for Facebook live but wait I have to do it on my phone" which and be a hassle getting it into the right position. Sadly without this future it just A glorified Web Cam with alexa built in. If I knew this was going to have been the case then I would have just bought an echo show. At least I can get more out of that. Once the Facebook live feature is added to this portal it will make a world of a difference and really make it stand out from Google and Amazon. Even if this was rushed to shelves it kind of goes without saying you want more Facebook features on it / options right out of the box ( such as facebook live streaming ) considering it's a Facebook device.

FB live, too good of piece of equipment to not be able to do this. Bought the portal as I was told i could use it for my weekly live training sessions

I agree. This was the reason i purchased it too. Without the facebook live feature i have no use for it.

HIGHLIGHT on this post- this is a NON PORTABLE ipad knockoff with limited apps.
It came to public way too early, and we had to pay for it. For now I am returning mine, and may come back when all the flaws are fixed. I was so excited for this, but using this, you are basically a ***** to video calls on messenger. My parents don't have messenger and they don't want it (they do have iphones so its easier to video chat with them). This process is Difficult and the hardware, way less than fun.

i bought this for my wife to use for her business. she uses facebook live daily and i figured this would be a great addition. I found out it does not work on fb live so i was wrong. You should add this feature to enhance the quality camera features

Allow live streaming and recording. This will allow creators to take advantage of the cool camera features.

I almost bought one until I was told there was no Facebook Live feature. As soon as I hear that has been added, I will definitely get one. The camera features are awesome but for me now, would be under-used.

I am looking to do events via Facebook Live. While in Best Buy I came across this device and took a few minutes to play around with it and I must say that I was truly amazed by the way the camera works. It was very surprising to know that Facebook Live isn’t a feature available with this device. I plan on purchasing this device in the future but I will say that if Facebook Live was available through the device when I saw it in Best Buy, I would have purchased it then.

Great product it just needs to add that feature asap!

Make it able to broadcast Facebook live videos. This would be a must have then for any social media broadcaster. From news teams to classrooms and comedians to musicians. Any social media page would benefit from it

Please add live streaming capabilities

This needs to be an added feature immediately! Portal would be THE PERFECT Live streaming device if so. Add Live Streaming to FB!

This needs to work with Facebook live as well.
