Has anyone been able to get it to work on portal first gen ? I have the smaller one, and there's still no update although it was supposed to be yesterday...

I'm very frustrated with the limitations of portal. The majority of my conversations are on FB messenger & whatsapp. When I researched portal & it's options I found this April 30, 2019 article "Facebook’s Portal is getting WhatsApp support and launching internationally". So I bought it. Now I realize the article was a premature press release that wasn't true. Very irritated.

At this time the portal is nothing more than an advertisement for Facebook. It would be great to use this device on ALL platforms such as IOS OR ANDROID. if this is not possible you should be able to do face time with Whats App since it is owned by Facebook as well. this will open up many more possibilities for calling a lot more sales to people who use Whats App but are not Facebook users

Add / Integrate WhatsApp capabilities so users all over the world can use WhatsApp for phone calls, video calls, messaging, etc.

Adding whatsapp calling facility would greatly increase the utility of portal.

Also please activate usb port at back to allow for usb ethernet connection.
