Improve audio and video quality
I bought portal tvs for my family this year to better stay in touch but the audio and video quality is horrible! The internet speed is not the issue (300mbps down, 20mbps up), we have tried connected between 5 different households and it's the same thing. portal tv to portal tv calls have terrible video quality. If someone calls from their laptop, the video quality is much better on the receiving end. Worse than the video though is the audio quality. The voices are choppy, the sound gets loud and soft making the audio almost intolerable. This seems like a half baked product. Are there any updates in the works to improve the experience???

Unfortunately, I've had similar results and I distributed about 10 of these to family members.
For us, the video is acceptable, but the audio cut outs are terrible. Makes it impossible when connecting kids to each other.
It appears to be a problem with the noise cancelling/auto-mute features. If you pair a bluetooth headset to the portal and have the sound output go through there (so it doesn't get picked up by the portal mic), it's better.
Honestly, I regret the purchases. I should have spent more on iPads or something else. I dumped a few thousand into these and a bunch of hours to make them work. Didn't expect this.
