Some elderly people struggle with smartphones but can manage to communicate using Portal with it's very simple user interface, click to answer (no need to slide to answer like on WhatsApp phone app) and push an Icon on screen to call your rellies instead of having to open the app or contacts and then search etc etc.

If you are reading this, it's not an issue you face, you will be very able to handle this technology but your your 80 year old Grandma & Grandpa might not.

If it were possible to use WhatsApp , like messenger, to communicate with Portal, then it makes it very easy for everyone to list and communicate with Grandma and Grandpop.
