An error occurred while saving the comment But without audio tracks? Used to be able to enable audio by tapping the screen and clicking a speaker icon, but that doesn't seem to be available now.
An error occurred while saving the comment Agreed, this is yet another upsetting, unnecessary feature removal by Facebook, that blands it down to merely a much less interesting smart display than Echo and Nest, vs. something unique and enjoyable for families.
It was a joy seeing my short family and drone video shots playing from time to time in ambient mode.
Upvoting this post, and posting a separate general complaint about Facebook's disrespectful pattern of feature removal from Portal.

An error occurred while saving the comment I noticed and reported this, and it appears to be a bug not a feature. I was able to get it back to displaying a larger, random selection of photos across multiple albums by unselecting all albums, then adding them back one by one. But, it still seems to "get stuck" on the same small set every once in a while.
Very disappointing that what had worked well for a couple years is suddenly struggling.
Also disappointing that FB removed the ability for album videos to play in ambient mode, I'm complaining separately about that needless feature removal.

An error occurred while saving the comment Ouch! This feature regression is very disappointing. One of the main uses we purchased our original family Portals for was to see one another's tagged photos coming across, automagically. We even just purchased another Portal for another family member with this expressly in mind, and may now return the device.

I've discovered this capability is effectively back -- and perhaps never left? I'm able to instantly transfer active calls between Portal and Messenger, by initiating a call to the contact I'm already connected to, from the second device I want to transfer to. This has worked from Portal to mobile, and mobile to Portal.
