1. Portal ringtone

   May I respectfully suggest that you encourage the designers to make a better ringtone. Our whole family has invested in Portals for Christmas as a way to keep contact with elderly relatives during these difficult times. They are missing calls because the unit does nothing but a quick bleep when a call is incoming. They need more than this.

3. Remote imporvements to especially assist the elderly, and maybe also the not so elderly.

   I'm testing a Portal TV to judge its suitability for elderly relatives And would like to make the observations/suggestions. All related to the remote at the moment. :-)

   It's small so some with arthritis, who use two hands to operate a TV remote for example, may find it difficult to hold the remote in the one hand and then select the required button with the finger of the other hand. They need something that is substantial enough to grip securely or maybe a non slip surface or skin.

   Bear in mind that some of our elderly relatives have not worked in environments that require technology skills and/or maybe getting forgetful and need visual reminders.

   Could you print arrows or arrow heads and an OK symbol on the circular selector and the central select button. If one is forgetful and not used to things like an iPod then a circular bit of plastic could be seen as pointless decoration if no use is identified. And to be honest, thinking of some of my friends who wouldn't be considered elderly, some of them would equally struggle.

   I'm aware of instances where people can just about answer or make calls on a DECT cordless phone, forget about using the inbuilt contact lists in those phones, so using a portal has to be simple and as familiar to using a phone as possible as that is what FB are promoting these to be an alternative to. See a picture of a contact and press the appropriate button to call. Its got to be that simple.

   Could you consider adding a green accept/make call & red end/decline call button on the remote. Maybe add an orange/yellow/blue/whatever accept/make call button so that green would be accept/make voice call only and the other colour, yellow lets say, would make or accept video calls. If they don't get the hang of the make/accept video call button then at least they can make/receive audio calls by pressing the common green button. :-)

   Just a thought. Hope that all makes sense.

4. Give PortalTV Alexa speaker group membership

   Although Portal TV is Alexa enabled it doesn't work as a member of a speaker group, even though it can be added to a group.

5. Restore Self-Check to Portal

   This week Self-Check was removed. Why oh, why Facebook? Before making a Portal call the option to "Check View Before Calling" - how we look - was so wonderful, Now it is gone. I contacted Support and it was removed in an "update". Update? This took away something so useful. Who doesn't wanna look good on a call - check that strand of unruly hair? Please bring it back.

7. Vewd browser mouse pointer, red indicator light, and overheating on standby

   Improvements to Portal TV (in order of priority):

   1. Make the mouse pointer on Vewd browser disappear automatically after a couple of seconds of inactivity to:
      a. not distract from the streaming experience and
      b. avoid burn-in on one’s TV screen.
      Please notify me via email when an update for Vewd browser fixing this problem becomes available.

   2. The red light which indicates that the microphone and webcam are disabled is annoying to videophiles who watch movies at night with all the lights off. This light isn’t necessary because the top right corner of the home screen shows the status of the microphone and the webcam. The fix that I personally use is putting a piece of black cardboard over the red light. A better fix would be to have a software update where it’s possible to disable that red light (and view the status only through the top right corner of the home screen). An even better fix would be to modify the hardware of future Portal TVs so that they do away with the red light altogether and instead have a switch with an on and an off position so that the status can be known even with the TV screen off. Please notify me via email if a software update allowing one to disable the microphone without turning on the red light ever becomes available.

   3. When the Portal TV isn’t being used, it gets pretty warm just because it’s plugged in. It gets even warmer when the air conditioner is off in the summer as is the case when no one is home. The fix that I personally use is unplugging it when I’m not using it. An even better fix would be a software fix on your part or maybe even a hardware fix. Please notify me via email if a software fix making it heat up a lot less while it’s on standby ever becomes available.

9. MAJOR FLAW - Allow Whatsapp to be signed into more than 1 portal at a time

   Currently Whatsapp signs out of my lounge portal TV when i use my portal mini in the kitchen and visa versa, it is not feasible to constantly sign in to one or the other depending on where i am in the house. I would like both to ring when someone calls. Please confirm this is being worked on otherwise i will send one device back, as to me this is a major flaw that needs to be addressed, especailly for people outside the US who mainly use Whatsapp rather than messenger.

11. Zoom audio - bluetooth headphones and volume control

    Enhance Zoom to support bluetooth headphones/microphones.

    Also, the volume of Zoom when in a meeting on the Portal is unable to be changed. It stays the same volume no matter what you try to do to make it more or less loud.

12. Child lock during call

    The latest problem with Facebook Portal is that kids turn on some loud and annoying effect & then other people in group call can't turn them off. Sometimes they end the call. Sometimes they turn off the mic or camera. Clearly Portal developers didn't foresee that kids can play with it. There is no ability to lock the UI/effects during a call. Please add a simple lock or PIN so only adults can end the call or apply effects.

14. Allow FB Portal App downloads in Latin America and the Caribbean

    I live in Trinidad and Tobago. My sister from New York sent me the mini portal I believe...its 10' x 10'. I wanted to upload photos from my phone to the portal. But found I couldn't download the Portal App. I was so disappointed. Now I can't upload any photos to Portal. Please fix this. It makes no sense.

16. Why can’t messenger and WhatsApp group calls work on portal?

    It’s really embarrassing that Facebook hardware isn’t compatible with standard Facebook-owned apps and functionality that are used the world over. Currently if friends call me as part of a group call it rings on my phone but the portal won’t recognise the incoming call. Please fix this.

    Why have the chat function available on the zoom app with out the keyboard?
