  1. Allow portal to communicate in other languages.

    My relatives speak other languages and would like to be able to wake up potal and call in those. Ie. Hallo portal or Hola portal

  2. Allow longer video recording and saving / uploading

    I want to use Portal + to track me as I make a selfie video or during a practice / workout session. This has a great camera and mic, can we use it to make videos? Please? No more selfie stick and poor sound quality

    Thanks for providing this feature request. As part of a recent software, we released the Photo Booth app on Portal. Photo booth allows you to take photos and short videos with your Portal and send them via Facebook Messenger. However, as this idea seems to be more about recording and saving longer videos, we’re going to leave this one open and change the title to better reflect this. Thanks!

  3. Activate Self-view While Not In Call

    Portal should provide a setting to activate the camera (i.e., Self View) while not in a call. This would be very useful for tasks such as framing, verifying field of view, troubleshooting, etc.

  6. Portal Plus Design Feedback

    From a design perspective, I really like the size of Portal Plus screen compared to the Portal, but a couple things about the design are a bit annoying. I just wanted to provide this general feedback:

    1. I always end up accidentally touching the touch buttons on the top as I'm either resting my hand or turning the screen. I'd rather they be on the front.

    2. The bump/square on the back is kind of big. I realize that it needs to be there for sound, and probably balance to prevent tipping over. I try to hide it by centering it over…

  7. Make the YouTube app better.

    YouTube used to be better. Now it is the website, not an app. After the initial video, it switches back to small picture/website. It is a real pain now.

  8. After a call, switch the volume slide back to be able to change the volume on music. I don't like having to power cycle every dang time.

  10. Schedule Group Calls in Messager

    I love that we can do group calls in Messager, especially for family who lives across the country or for friends from college etc. But we'd have to all sync our times manually. It would be really cool if there was an event option to plan a group call together instead of waiting for everyone to get online.

  11. Add Instagram Content

    I'd like to be able to add Instagram content to my superframe, either of everyone I follow, or of specific people.

    I'd also like to be alerted when any of my Instagram or Facebook friends go live, and be able to join in and watch the live content from Portal.

  12. More Video Content

    I'd like to be able to request Portal to play video content like video clips from news sites from the day. Hey Portal, what's the news!? etc. Selecting some news sources could be nice, but some middle of the road sources would also be okay.

  13. Display photos from my friends this day/week

    I'd like to see news stories, specifically photos, from my Facebook friends from the last 24 hours, from the last day, or week. If it notices no one is watching, hold the newer content until someone is around to show it.

  19. Hey portal, turn off/turn on video (for this call)

    It'd be great to be able to switch to audio/video call during a call using the assistant !
    I sometimes want to turn off or on the video (mainly cuz I stay on call my GF with which we're long distance before sleep but without the video). It'd be great that the portal assistant could switch it off, not having to press on screen 🤓

  20. Live speech to text for my phone calls with my dad.

    My dad is a baby boomer. He is hard of hearing/deaf. If my dad could read what I am saying and what others are saying in a video chat; it would literally change his life and the foundation of his relationships for the better. There are services that do this over the phone where a live person is interpreting and creating text but it isn't great and it doesn't have video. But if portal could combine the technology of speech to text with video and audio for someone like my dad - you would have MANY new customers. People are…
