Allow remote administration to change settings. Got my mom one and due to another issue related to the superframe not shutting off and keeping her awake, she had the staff in her retirement community 400 miles away just unplug it. Other simple photo frames allow this.

Since this is made by Facebook there should be a Facebook app on this device, not just browsing to it on the browser.

Allow acess for Facebook messenger
Allow users that do not have a smart phone or tablet to use FB messenger to access portal. Its not fair to ask someone you want to video chat to, to have to buy a portal. Especially if this was a gift so grandparents can see the grand kids. Some computers do not have a camera on them so this feature would be great.

If I have a portal device I should receive ALL messenger calls on it even if the caller has no idea that I have a portal!
I should also be able to send/receive text messages via messenger using voice-to-text too.

Allow portal to communicate in other languages.
My relatives speak other languages and would like to be able to wake up potal and call in those. Ie. Hallo portal or Hola portal

Allow longer video recording and saving / uploading
I want to use Portal + to track me as I make a selfie video or during a practice / workout session. This has a great camera and mic, can we use it to make videos? Please? No more selfie stick and poor sound quality
76 votesThanks for providing this feature request. As part of a recent software, we released the Photo Booth app on Portal. Photo booth allows you to take photos and short videos with your Portal and send them via Facebook Messenger. However, as this idea seems to be more about recording and saving longer videos, we’re going to leave this one open and change the title to better reflect this. Thanks!

Activate Self-view While Not In Call
Portal should provide a setting to activate the camera (i.e., Self View) while not in a call. This would be very useful for tasks such as framing, verifying field of view, troubleshooting, etc.

Portal Plus Design Feedback
From a design perspective, I really like the size of Portal Plus screen compared to the Portal, but a couple things about the design are a bit annoying. I just wanted to provide this general feedback:
I always end up accidentally touching the touch buttons on the top as I'm either resting my hand or turning the screen. I'd rather they be on the front.
The bump/square on the back is kind of big. I realize that it needs to be there for sound, and probably balance to prevent tipping over. I try to hide it by centering it over…

Make the YouTube app better.
YouTube used to be better. Now it is the website, not an app. After the initial video, it switches back to small picture/website. It is a real pain now.

During a Portal call, photos/videos sent through mobile or PC Messenger through should appear on the Portal display.

Schedule Group Calls in Messager
I love that we can do group calls in Messager, especially for family who lives across the country or for friends from college etc. But we'd have to all sync our times manually. It would be really cool if there was an event option to plan a group call together instead of waiting for everyone to get online.

Add Instagram Content
I'd like to be able to add Instagram content to my superframe, either of everyone I follow, or of specific people.
I'd also like to be alerted when any of my Instagram or Facebook friends go live, and be able to join in and watch the live content from Portal.

I'd like to be able to request Portal to play video content like video clips from news sites from the day. Hey Portal, what's the news!? etc. Selecting some news sources could be nice, but some middle of the road sources would also be okay.

Display photos from my friends this day/week
I'd like to see news stories, specifically photos, from my Facebook friends from the last 24 hours, from the last day, or week. If it notices no one is watching, hold the newer content until someone is around to show it.
