1. "Open Social" Mode

   I'd like an option to indicate that I'm open for anyone to call, sort of like "open social" mode. This way friends wouldn't hesitate to video call me if they're bored, lonely, interested to catch up, without having to "pre-validate" the call with me as most people do before a video call. I'm not asking it to auto answer, just a contextual status of sorts.

2. "Tech Support Mode"

   I find I use my Poral with my parents a lot to do virtual tech support. They spend a lot of time turning their phones around to the camera, and Portal zooming around to their face, or someone else's voice in the room, instead of the phone, tablet or computer screen they're trying to show me. They don't do manual mode well.

   Could Portal recognize a screen being shown to the camera as an "important" thing, more important than a face or voice and focus on it as long as it's being shown? I'm up for any other offshoots of this idea to make providing tech support to my parents easier. It feels like we're walking on ice, per se, when trying to keep Portal zoomed in on the screen of what they're showing me for help.

3. It'd be great to be able to call mobile/landline numbers like Echo

   Echo allows you to call (non-video) mobile and landline numbers. Almost went with that instead of Portal but ultimately picked Portal. Would like to see that though.

6. I would love to have portal ringing with smart bulb for deaf who cannot hear portal ringing

7. Toggle off name when in Superframe

8. move camera

   Need Ability to Move Self Camera between corners of TV

   I have the portal that goes on top of my TV. If I have 3 people on the screen, my self camera only appears on bottom right corner, cutting off most of the image from that person if the left side is taken up by only 1 person. If we could simply move the camera to either corner we can move it to the space that's not needed.

9. Please Please Please allow freeze frame on Portal TV and touch screen

   We work with a trainer remotely, and our Portal TV loses track of us a lot. Make a command like "Hey Portal keep frame" to stop tracking or Hey portal "Track frame" to resume tracking.

   Also there are times when the trainer is trying to show us something and it Zooms in on his face. It would be nice if portal could "Zoom out" with a vocal command.

11. Portals in hospitals

    Please consider donating portal devices to hospitals so patients can stay connected with love ones. It is so wonderful that they are able to FaceTime but for those that are having to rely on hospital staff to hold phones up the Portal will be an invaluable lifeline.
    I would be happy to donate in anyway that I can. I have lost my job but will find away to help bring this joy to others.
    I do not know how I would be surviving without the amazing Portal. So very grateful every day for those that have provided us with the amazing gift of visual communication.

12. Smart camera doesnt pan/crop correctly with multiple parties on a call

    I just had a call with two others. One of them was using a Portal TV, and the other a portal mini. The one with the Portal TV had 2 people in the frame (each on one side of the frame), however in the split-screen view from my perspective didn't crop their image correctly so all I was left with half of each of the cut off and only the emptiness between the two of them visible. Not very helpful!

13. LTE/5G Cellular Version

    A LTE or 5G cellular ready version of the portal. There are many senior citizens that could benefit from the portal, especially during this quarantine, but many do not have internet connections at home. I recently ran into this problem when I setup my 90 year old grandfather with a portal. He lives in a rural part of Kentucky and does not have an internet connection. I had to purchase a mobile hotspot in order for the portal to work. This is an added level of complication for an elderly person and having a LTE version of the portal would definitely help.

15. Use portable speaker as microphone

    There is often an echo and poor sound quality. Allowing the use of the microphones on portable speakers, e.g. Bose Soundlink, which has a speakerphone feature, to conduct calls, could solve this.

16. Allow users to add more than 50 photos at once

    Superframe improvements

    1. It’s cumbersome to add photos to your Portal from your Apple photos library. You can only upload 50 at a time, and you have to select each photo individually, which is time consuming if you want to add a lot of photos.

    2. When you add photos to Portal from your Apple photos (I have not tried to add photos any other way), it changes their order around. When you go to add more photos, this makes it hard to find the spot where you left off.

    3. It fails to add all the photos you select. I added a batch of 50 photos from my Apple photos but only 48 went over. The next day I added another batch of 50 photos, but that brought the total on my portal to 82. And because the order is off, the only way to figure out which ones didn’t make it would be a real chore.

    4. Add an option to shuffle or randomize your superframe photos

    5. Add an option to have the superframe display for longer than 1 hour or indefinitely.

17. Free Facebook Portal TV streaming device

    Comcast's Xfinity Flex is now free for internet-only customers, other companies offer subscribers a free of charge streaming devices upon subscription. Could you also offer Facebook Portal TV streaming device for free as well or team up with the internet company or Netflix to offer your Portal TV for free?

    Also, please add Netflix to Facebook Portal TV streaming device. If you added Netflix to the portal I would have bought it.

19. Keyboard/Mouse support

    The portal has a very good browser, unfortunately without a keyboard and a mouse the experience is really bad, I tried connecting a Bluetooth keyboard and it didn’t work, I also tried using a USB type C otg adapter to connect to regular USB keyboard but it didn’t work, which are things that I do with my Amazon echo show 2, I also connect a 2.4ghz remote and use it to control youtube.com/tv website which is a very good experience using YouTube on the echo show making it looks exactly like the TV. another thing that I cannot do on the portal devices.
