Transfer feature
The only reason I bought the Portal was for the transfer feature. I was able to communicate with my daughter who lives in another state. Then one day it was gone. I spend months on the phone with tech support telling me it was a technical issue that was being worked on. Now I got an email saying that they are doing away with the feature. I bought my portal through Amazon so I can no longer return because I spent so many months waiting for the repair. The portal is useless to me now and I feel ripped off!…

Being able to turn off mic and cam plus cam cover is a great security option although what is Portal doing behind the scenes for security?
What is Portal doing behind the scenes to ensure the mic is NOT accessible via hackers? I love all the features that have been added and the idea and complete concept of the Portal. I am will considering to buy for my out of state parents so they have the incredible technology to stay connected with us, the accessibility from what I’ve read seems like my parents would (in their 70s) be very comfortable using. Besides the microphone issue I have no bad feedback to submit. Customer service quality seems to be the best I’ve seen with any other products…

Add "Hey Portal MUTE MIC/Camera" voice command
Please add this to her language. This would be an awesome feature. Please allow photo slideshow to still show when portal is muted. I noticed it turns the screen off . The photo thing is the best part we want to leave that going even if mic is off

Gallery
A gallery view (similar to zoom) would be very useful, often the portal really struggles with the right video setup especially with 2 people on

Enable Alexa video skills
Portal really should have full Alexa functionality, most importantly, Alexa video skills. The limited version of Alexa that is built in to Porta does not take advantage of the screen or the many video skills that Alexa has, such as video news, screensaver videos, games, Amazon Prime Movies and Shows, cooking videos, etc. Defeats the purpose of having a screen; I could get an Echo Dot for $19.99 instead.
Portal needs to be more than a one trick pony video calling device, as great as the video calling us. Has so much more potential and a shame that it is…59 votes -
Problem with Story Time
I experienced a problem using Story Time on Portal TV. Although uploaded and running fine, for some scenes it is shown a chessboard instead of the animation. This issue appeared in the last period of time.

Save wifi connection without account
Allow saving wifi connection details without requiring a facebook or WhatsApp account.
We use portal TV to call our whatsapp contacts and do not prefer to leave whatsapp connected all the time on portal.
Right now portal makes us go through the entire setup process whenever we try to login to WhatsApp after disconnect whatsapp web.

You need to move the camera back as with 1st generation portal! I need to be seeingvthe face of my compromised sister when talking to her...
Move the camera back to center so we can have eye contact both ways! For Gos's sake why would portal go backwards from 1st generation. So very stupid to have to look ar a camera so our loved ones can see our eyes! Loved one can see us but we have to tell a stupid camera how much we love instead of into the eyes of loved one. Missed the boat on 2nd gen development

Spotlight button during call
Place a spotlight button (on/off) for easier access next to the call settings buttons (eg next to the camera on/off button)

Improve the Whatsapp connectivity with i-phone. Constantly loses connection with i-phone. Calls come to phone but not Portal.
Fix i-phone connection when using Whatsapp. Constantly disconnects. Work okay with Android phone. Facebook connection works ok with i-phone.

Superframe setting to not display metadata
Settings to turn off the picture metadata in the bottom left of the superframe (profile picture, name, albulm, how long ago). I'd like to just see the picture and the time. Even though I like the time there, I'd like a setting option to remove it also.

Camera zooming out
Whenever I call my mother in India, portal does a wonderful job of keeping her in focus.
But whenever she leaves the room and there is no one else in the room, portal stays zoomed in at the last location where it followed my mother.
I would have liked it do zoom out and show a wide angle view of the room when there is no one in the room so that I can see the entire room when it is empty.Thanks

Make the Portal mini work without having to reboot before using.
Make the wifi connection to the mobile phone more stable. It works after reboot then it drops off and no more calls received /made until it is rebooted. Total rubbish.

Please remove auto cropping on Portal TV
When chatting with users on their phone's I do not see the full image, it is cropped in height. I presume this is due to the fact that they're in portrait mode and I'm permanently in landscape mode. Please at least provide the option to toggle this on/off as I'm being shown designs but missing elements which is somewhat frustrating both for me and the other person.
