Important and very essential is the hey portal should be also for WhatsApp. Currently this isn’t available but would be beneficial.

Google Voice Assistant
I am interested in purchasing two Portal Plus systems. I been looking at your features and see that you have Alexa built into the Portal. I do not use or like Alexa. My home is a complete Google home. Do you also have Google Voice built into the Portal? If not, it looks like I am going to have to use Goole Meet for my home video calls. I need to know before purchasing. -

Voice to text
Allowing my sister who has multiple sclerosis to do voice to text or some type of speech recognition. She doesn't have the dexterity to type so this would be absolutely wonderful! Thanks!

Recording Voice for Better Voice Recognition Especially for People with Abnormal Speech
The Portal should have a setting to record your voice for better voice recognition. I have cerebral palsy and it doesn't recognize my voice even though it does for others with "normal" speech.

Needs More Specific Voice Commands
If Portal could have better tie ins to the apps it uses it would make a more efficient device, for example, asking Portal to “Open Spotify” is far different than asking Alexa to open Spotify. With Portal, Spotify opens but everything must now use the touch screen. With Alexa, you cannot say “Open Spotify”, this will cause Spotify to just resume the music and nothing on the screen changes. Stop or Pause radio command
There is no voice command to stop or pause playback on iheartradio or browser radio. forcing you to walk over to the device and navigate menus to pause music. :-(

Thanks for your suggestion. I looked into this and I believe"Hey Portal – pause the music" and “Hey Portal – resume the music” should accomplish what you’re looking for when you have iheartradio music playing. Please let us know if those commands work for you!

Hey portal, turn off/turn on video (for this call)
It'd be great to be able to switch to audio/video call during a call using the assistant !
I sometimes want to turn off or on the video (mainly cuz I stay on call my GF with which we're long distance before sleep but without the video). It'd be great that the portal assistant could switch it off, not having to press on screen 🤓7 votes -

Portal Voice Support in French
To make calls using the assistant, it must be set in English. It doesn’t support French. Alexa does, but the call command can’t be used with Alexa, so French users are stuck without voice assistance.

Alexa Wake Word: Respond only if closest device
I have an Echo in the kitchen and a Portal TV in the living room. Even when I'm sitting right next to the kitchen Echo, the Portal TV responds and takes over, which is very frustrating. I don't have the same issue with other Echo devices, which defer to the closest device. The Portal TV doesn't seem to understand how to do this.
It'd be great if you could add this function, or at least enable me to decrease sensitivity of the Portal.

Make Portal assistance more smarter
Make portal to do more. Intregate portal with Facebook app and make her do some task on Facebook too. Like posting e status by voice. Replying msg both on messenger and whtsapp. Make portal show new posts from favorite contact ( option to on and off) when ever they post anything. Make portal to reply to a photo or hit a like or and emoji. Make portal to search an contact if the command is given wheter he or che in online to chat. Please allow a way to change the voice command because my mother who has had a stroke has a hard time remembering the name portal and saying it.

Photo Go Back
I love superframe. I'd love to be able to say, "Hey Portal, go back!"
Sometimes it displays a photo that I want to remember/see where/when it was taken and by the time I get over to Portal it's moved on to the next photo.
I did realize I can touch and slide back, which is okay.

Hey Portal won’t work
Can anyone help - Alexa is working on the portal but Hey Portal won’t - it flashes like it has heard but will not respond. We are trying to set it up in hospital where my Mum is for Christmas. Clearly microphone is working as she had Alexa working. Any ideas out there?

Make Portal TV available for announcements ftom within an Alexa routine. It can be selected as a speaker to make an announcement.
You can tell Alexa to make an announcement via the Portal TV, where it appears in the list of available devices to make the announcement from. But if that announcement is part of an Alexa routine, Portal TV does not appear in the list of available devices. I can't see any reason for this omission and in practice it means I have to keep an Echo Dot near the Portal TV rather than being able to use it elsewhere.

Enable portal tv speaker in Alexa routines
I recently bought a Portal TV. Not impressed at all. But I did try to use the Alexa feature with some of my existing routines, that do something to a schedule then announce that it has been done. I can't select Portal TV as the speaker for the announcement. I also can't add it to a speaker group. So not only does it not work with Zoom, it restricts Alexa features too. Never mind, it has silly features like AI, and some other useless apps. Maybe it's intended to fit on a crib.

List of actions possible via voice command
I have no idea what commands are possible. With Alexa devices I know everything it does is voice activated, but with portal the available seem more limited. My gran likes to view the slideshow for example, but I can't figure out the command to start it, and she is no use with touch screens, as Will just randomly tap the screen and hope it works

Allow controlling Active Portal user through voice commands
If it is not there already I think it is a good idea to be able to switch Active user for portal using voice command. Something like Set Active user to "user name"
