1. Office 365 Tenant to Tenant Migration

   Organizations using Office 365 have the need to undergo O365 Tenant to Tenant Migration at the time of mergers and acquisitions or rebranding and divestiture. It involves the migration of mailboxes, instances, OneDrive accounts, and domains from one tenant to another. As no in-built option for source-tenant to target-tenant migration is available today, one has to use a third-party Office 365 migration tool or PowerShell scripts.

   Stages To Move Domain From One Office 365 Tenant To Another

   Migrating the resources and information of one tenant that uses Office 365 to another involves various steps. A basic classification divides them into two, namely the Preparation (or Pre-migration stage) and the Migration process itself.

   Preparation for Office 365 Tenant To Tenant Migration

   Before commencing with the migration process, one has to go through a multi-step preparatory process. This will help prepare one for the migration process and complete it smoothly. The following steps are involved.

   Step 1 – Domain Preparation
   There should be sufficient space or room in the target tenant’s Office 365 to ensure the successful migration of all data from the source tenant. It could entail obtaining additional licenses, as well.
   Secondly, both the source tenant and the target tenant will require the opening of administrator accounts. Also, specific migration tools might need the creation of additional admin accounts.

   It is also necessary to create user mailboxes, resource mailboxes, and distribution groups in the target tenant.

   At times, performing Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) consolidation using AD DS tools might be necessary. The synchronization of the source and the target domain is the next step to follow.
   The final step of the domain preparation stage is to train the end-users on how to use Office 365 post-migration.

   Step 2 – Verification of the Domain
   Commence the process of verifying the target tenant domain in Office 365.
   The addition of a source domain in the admin center of the target Office 365 and the creation of TXT records in DNS have to be performed.
   However, one should ensure that the domain is in use for only one target tenant lest the verification process should fail. It will now take around 72 hours for the change to take effect.

   Step 3 – Scheduling the Migration
   The first step involves generating a list of user mailboxes for migration and creating a CSV file for mapping.
   Note down the lowest value of Time To Live (TTL) on the Mail Exchanger (MX) record of the primary email domain.
   The next step is to disable the directory sync for the source tenant.

   Step 4 – Facilitating the Migration
   Change the primary MX record to an unreachable value to stop the flow of inbound mail to the source tenant. It becomes easy because of the noting down of the lowest value of TTL on the MX record.
   Ensure erasure of all objects from the primary mail domain in the source tenant before the transfer of Office 365 mailbox to another account.

   The final step is preparing the target domain by verifying the source tenant in the target domain. One should ensure to initiate this step one hour after performing the previous actions.
   If one uses Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), one has to configure a new domain in the target tenant for AD FS.
   One should also activate new users in the target domain as well as assign new licenses.
   The primary email address for the new users must be the source domain. Communicating the passwords to the new users is also necessary.
   These steps mark the end of the pre-migration process. One can now use PowerShell scripts or third-party migration tools.

   The Advantage Of Using Office 365 Migration Tool

   Specialized Microsoft 365 Migration tools are available for Office 365 tenant to tenant migration, using which it is possible to do the following quickly.

   Please add the YouTube TV app! The browser app on Portal supports YouTube TV, and it works fine. The YouTube TV app has more controls for the user. This feature would sell Portals to many subscribers of YouTube TV.

3. Remove device no longer owned from Meta/Quest account

   Users should be able to remove devices we no longer own from our account. After factory resetting the device and trading it/selling it, that device should no longer appear in our Meta/Quest account. Not being able to remove a no-longer-owned device results in continued emails regarding a device I no longer own.

5. meta portal go netflix

   HSN advertised the product as being capable of supporting netflix on the browser which is total false advertisement. While you can go on website, you can not stream a single show or movie. Honestly the meta portal go is a complete waste of money, you can only video chat via facebook or whatsapp... which is the SAME thing your phone could do and you'd save yourself the money..

9. Portal pictures not looping

   My portal pictures have stopped looping. If I switch off and on it will (after the designated minutes) go through my 42 photos, come to the end and then just sit there. Even after it is woken up it just comes up with the last photo. I’ve done a factory reset, I’ve deleted and re inputed the photos still same problem. On my portal I can turn the ‘display on portal’ off and on and it just runs through the photos to the end then stops on the last photo.

12. HOW TO BACKUP ON PREMISE WORKLOADS TO AZURE?

    Backup to the cloud is a nebulous topic. From public clouds hosted by a handful of major players, to private clouds creating clusters of highly available storage within a company’s own data centers, to hybrids of the two and everything in between, the explosive growth of cloud data storage options has naturally led companies to want to back up their data to these same locations.

    Built-in Azure Backup Solution
    It would be fair to mention that Microsoft Azure also offers its own backup-related service called Azure Backup. This service does exactly what it is named after – creates backups of data and transfers them to the Azure cloud. It can work both as an Azure VM backup system and as an Azure backup on premise.

    Azure Backup as a whole is not a particularly complicated system – it uses its own MARS (Microsoft Azure Recovery Services) agent to send data to an Azure Backup Service Vault. After that, this vault then connects to an actual Azure cloud storage account, ready to accept backups as soon as you’re done setting up a backup schedule.

    The following step consists of figuring out the encryption settings – you can generate a random passphrase, or input your own. This passphrase is essential for any restoration process of yours. You also have to pick the location that your passphrase would be saved at. Clicking “Next” one final time concludes this half of the process.

    Backup scheduling is the second part of this entire Azure Backup setup process, and this one is significantly smaller, too:
    The first step here would be to launch the program we have previously installed (if it failed to launch automatically). In this program, you can see an entire panel of options on the right – pick “Schedule Backup” to begin.

    The “Schedule Backup Wizard” menu has multiple steps that help you with figuring out what you want to back up, how often to perform backups, and so on. The first step is to pick the backup target.

    Data retention (short-term and long-term) via Recovery Service vaults, and more.

    However, Azure Backup Solutions is also not the perfect solution on the market, and far from being the only one that can backup data to Azure cloud storage. As such, we can present five best practices when it comes to picking a specific backup and recovery solution (Azure Backup is our current example):

    Backup target. The entire plan that describes your backup and recovery efforts – your backup strategy – changes a lot depending on the backup target that you have chosen. There is a massive difference between backing up regular files and folders, and creating app-aware backups of specific instances of VMs. Other variations of backup targets are databases (Azure SQL database backups are one such example), services, all kinds of VMs, and more – and you should figure out if a backup solution supports your backup target before getting it.

    Backup performance. Another significant part of any backup strategy is the recovery time – figuring out how much time you can spend on fixing a service or a server (RTO), or how much time you can work without a part of your data (RPO). Both of these depend on a massive number of factors, including backup time, data transfer time, highest possible bandwidth of your channel, and more.

    Backup price. Pricing is also important when it comes to picking a cloud backup and recovery solution, since it is not uncommon for different service providers to implement different models when it comes to cloud storage space. For example, Azure Backup offers a pricing system that consists of two main components: a variable charge depending on the amount of storage used by the backup, and a flat charge depending on an instance size. As such, it is important to find out what model your backup service is using beforehand.

    Recovery process. While Backup Access Database as a process is important, it is extremely careless to forget about one more part of this – the recovery process. And this part of the service can also vary quite a lot depending on your cloud backup service of choice. For example, Azure backup and recovery system offers you the ability to recover VMs, workloads, system states and individual files, it can also be used to monitor backups, generate reports, run simple diagnostics, and more.
    In this context, we should also mention another similar service – Azure Site Recovery. It is another highly specific service that provides a comprehensive Microsoft Azure disaster recovery feature set for your data, including copying VMs, enabling failover, and so on.

13. Please add more stories to Story Time

    I saw on somebody else's complaint about the lack of new stories that it was marked as completed. There have not been new storied in a very long time! One of the big reasons that my daughter and I purchase our Portals (and I recommended the Portal to others), was for Story Time. It seems that Facebook is engaging in false advertising with the following statement: "Portal comes with a library of stories built-in, with more free stories added regularly. When a new story becomes available you’ll see it appear within Story Time automatically."

14. Allow joining zoom link from browser

    Currently, you need to always enter the zoom meeting ID and password to join a meeting.

    Many people look up a meeting code and password in their email on the browser, however, the webpage "Join Meeting" link does not link out or start the zoom app.

    Please allow the browser to launch the zoom app to connect to a meeting from clicking on a zoom link.

15. Better support for hacked accounts

    Portal support need to be able to contact Facebook to support their customers.
    Facebook account hacked, inappropriate posts made, account disabled. No route to sort this. Sent round in circles via Facebook help pages but unable to action anything.
    Portal support state can't help other than to send links to Facebook help pages which don't work.
    Can't use paid for portal device as Facebook account disabled. Advised of using a workaround of WhatsApp for using portal but no good as parents don't use WhatsApp so only have access to portal via Facebook/messenger. As such can't use portals and parents can't interact with grandchildren via portal.

16. The last update sucks for seniors

    Hello, I bought the portal for my visually impaired grandmother at Christmas 2020. Everything was fine, she was using it wonderfully and it really made her smile again in this time of covid. The icons for calling were large, they were easily found, they were in a defined order and were easier to remember. It was perfect ! and above all she really managed to use it on her own. But here it is, yesterday, an automatic update was set up and since then we have been very disappointed. The icons for calling have become very small, they change order each time you call, it's not easy to get to them because before you just had to swipe and it was good. Where there are call icons, there is a big square to go as a shortcut to other applications. My grandmother is sad because she does not understand anything any more and especially everything has become small and nothing is possible to enlarge or return to the version before. In short, we feel really ripped off because we would not have bought the portal if we had known that it would become like that. Please think of the elderly and the visually impaired, leave the portal easy for them to access.

18. Nursing Home Patients Need Drop In Feature Or Caller Ability To Accept Call For Them!

    I and many in my economic niche would absolutely love this device and eagerly buy it but so far cannot because the fact that it lacks an automatic drop in option renders it virtually useless to those of us who are purchasing these types of devices for an individual who has dementia or Alzheimer’s and is living in a memory care nursing home. And unfortunately these members of our communities are so often completely forgotten about when it comes to product innovation as more often than not they are the forgotten family members (forgotten by the rest of society that is, but certainly not by their families!) These valuable and very valued family members simply NEED to have a feature made available that would allow the caller to be able to initiate a video call without the requirement of the other party having to be able to accept the call first in order to receive it, press a button or speak a verbal command as it is critical to understand here that as their disease progresses they will become less capable of being able to use a telephone and eventually completely incapable of operating any sort of technological device on their own without substantial help, and even speech for voice commands is something most will eventually lose, if they can even manage to remember the vocal commands or even manage to continue to be able to read eventually or if they still can, they often will not remember to look at something like a post it note on the side of the TV screen saying, “to answer wife’s call, say aloud, “[whatever command is],”and therefore cannot utilize a remote or a verbal command to accept the video call. However this does not mean that it is not just as important and extremely critical that these individuals have daily access to being able to both see and hear from their loved ones on a regular basis in order to be able to maintain speech and identity recognition for the longest possible duration. Many of these patients are bedridden and there is very little accessible space and area to set up a display type of device like an Amazon echo show and therefore the portal from Facebook was initially extremely exciting to hear about, especially also because of the ability to turn the volume up loud for individuals who are struggling with hearing on top of all of these other issues. The lack of a need to have to mount anything on a wall that is to the side of their bed or on a stand that is to the side of their bed and being able to utilize the TV which is usually positioned right in front of them and these days TVs are big enough that even without glasses on, many patients with even excessively bad vision, are provided with TVs that are large enough that they can clearly see who it is they are looking at from across the room in their bed without their glasses on. Everything about this is absolutely perfect except for the fact that we cannot control their ability to accept the call from our end and it would be nice if we could also control the volume from our end. Or have a drop in feature where it is not necessary to except the call at all and it just goes through automatically. That would make all the difference and would make this device FINALLY, The one and only perfect solution out there that so far is yet to exist in this world which would allow perfect seamless communication between families and their nursing home bound relatives. Especially during the pandemic situation we’re in right now so many of us still have forms of very limited access to our family members. Please please consider this and consider making this change swiftly as many of us have a very elderly relatives who may not have much time left and don’t have two or three years for Facebook to think about this and debate it and then take even longer to you create an upgrade and release it. I implore you to please consider this and from the marketing side of things, Facebook would certainly have the claim to fame of having the only truly suitable home to nursing home communication device on the market. There are no others. The closest it comes after this is The Amazon echo show which is perfect in the opposite ways of the Facebook portal. It allows the drop in feature the way that is needed but does not allow us to utilize it on a television screen where we have the benefit of loud volume and large image as well as little difficulty with finding placement for a screen. Thank you for taking the time to seriously consider this and please, I implore whomever is reading this to please forward this message up the chain of command that it might be seen by whomever has the authority to make quick executive decisions and changes to product features and policies. Our community (those of us who are families with family members who have dementia or Alzheimer’s and have their family member living institutionalized full time amidst the pandemic) will be eagerly awaiting seeing these changes implemented and hopefully by Christmas this year 2021 as I am literally in touch on forums currently with a hundred or so different people who would rush right out to buy this as soon as these changes are made as many of us already ran right out to buy one of these as soon as we discovered them only to be let down in the store while inquiring about features or else purchased this item only to have to return it the next day after discovering that it was not a device our family members could effectively use to communicate with home :(

19. Ambient SlideShow limit

    I have been going in circles with Portal Support via e-mail and they keep directing me to this black hole.

    The ambient slideshow needs to use ALL of the photos placed in an album, not just the 50 "most popular". There should not be an algorithm choosing which photos show on the slide show unless someone chooses that specifically. I have this device for my 97 year old grandfather and the album is private and intended just for him to view. He only sees the 50 most recent added photos because of this algorithm/popularity contest. 50 photos does not begin to scratch the surface of 73 years of marriage, children, grand children, great grandchildren, parents , siblings, war buddies, life long friends, pets...The 400 I have in the album barely scratch the surface and he can't see those because someone decided that the photos you see on the ambient slideshow need to be popular to other people and interacted with.
