Enable voice commands to make WhatsApp calls, where caller doesn't have FB messenger
I've learnt that you can only call someone using voice commands if they already have a FB account. If they only have WhatsApp, it doesn't work. As this device is particularly suited to the older generation who don't get touchscreens and don't have Facebook, this seems like a major oversight.

Display photos continuously even without movement in the room or voice commands
Display photos in the Portal continuously even without detecting movement in the room. Family members in nursing homes are incapable of reaching the portal to touch the screen, and are unable to remember verbal commands but would like to see photos run continuously because it’s comforting to them.

More downloadable Apps, like YouTube and disney+ and netflix
Hey there, I have just received my new facebook portal this week. Inoticed it does not have an aoption to download other apps such as Amazon music, Netflix, and Disney+ or even YouTube. Is this something im missing and it is available. Or are theses apps not available on the portal with Alexa? Which theses apps are available on the fire stick.
As im very disappointed that I would have to buy secondary device to download theses apps. Rather then just using 1 device (my facebook portal) now I would have to change the HDMI cord everytime to change it…

Microphone Quality on Portal+ is terrible
Micrphone needs an update. The fact that if I am not near the device, people cannot hear me defeat the whole purpose of buying this.

PortaTV Group Calling Must be made easier
If you want PortalTV to compete with Zoom, you need to make it easier to set up a Group "Recurring" Call... Currently, you must call one person in the group and then manually add 4-6-10-15 others, a horribly tough process as it is since we don't have a keyboard interface... BUT THEN, if you want to REPEAT the call (you know, like keep in touch with family, friends, etc on a regular basis like FB was designed for), each time you want to get the group together, you have to redo the steps ...

Enable WhatsApp calls to be made without use of mobile phone.
Some elderly people struggle with smartphones but can manage to communicate using Portal with it's very simple user interface, click to answer (no need to slide to answer like on WhatsApp phone app) and push an Icon on screen to call your rellies instead of having to open the app or contacts and then search etc etc.
If you are reading this, it's not an issue you face, you will be very able to handle this technology but your your 80 year old Grandma & Grandpa might not.
If it were possible to use WhatsApp , like messenger, to communicate…

Ability for family members to add photos to your portal superframe without the need to install their Facebook account on our portal locally
I would love if my parents who live far away from me to be able to add photos to our portal super frame with access permissions given to them through my WhatsApp contacts. Then they could add their recent snaps to our portal and we to theirs remotely. A similar feature is provided in the “Frameo“ app that supports many generic WiFi photo frames in the market today. However is missing in the Portal.

Disable all other on screen text when in photo super frame mode
The photo super frame mode looks great but is cluttered with unnecessary and uninteresting information, like when the photo was added to an album. How does that interest me? Please add a option in setting to disable individual on screen fields in photo frame mode. Instead of photo was last added to album 5 days ago, how about “Photo was taken in Morocco, July 2017“ wouldn’t I rather be reminded of where and when the photo was taken? To relive my memories? FB Live Commenting
I haven’t seen anything in reference as to Why when I am looking at a Facebook live on watch I’m unable to read comments and I am unable to comment. It would be much easier if we were able to provide comments when watching a live or at least read them when they are coming up

Clean HDMI Out for Portal (Gen1) and Portal+
This is a feature request.
Currently, it is possible to 'mirror' the Portal display for the Gen1 devices.
As this link shows: https://portal.facebook.com/help/308224519867324/, it is possible to get HDMI out via an USB-C adapter and connect it to an external monitor.
This means that the HDMI feed can be used with a capture card (Elgato, Blackmagic 3G recorder) to utilize the fantastic Portal camera with other applications via OBS's virtual camera feature.
Currently, doing so will always display some kind of UI on the screen, making it unfeasible to use the camera in this way.

_Please_ let me permanently disable calls in the middle of the night; I keep losing sleep
I have friends all around the world and also travel between countries often and bring my Portal TV with me. I keep getting calls in the middle of the night and this is waking me up multiple times per week. I have tried to use the "do not disturb" feature, but it keeps turning itself off every morning.
It's incredibly upsetting that there's no setting that says "don't wake me up in the middle of the night." I know this isn't the product team's intent, but the fact that "do not disturb" resets every morning at 8:00 suggests that Facebook…

Allow the album to remain on the screen in full mode when listening to the album via Alexa.

Make an option for remote portal to control the camera
Remote portal could control the camera but this feature was removed!!! Instead of removing the feature just give us an option to allow or disallow! !!

We need the ability to change the portal audio from our phones. Especially with elderly who like to press buttons they don't understand

I think it telling that I’m asked “how can we improve portal and Portal+?”, explicitly not including PortalTV...
Add portalTV to list of things which might be improved.

Lock facility for security and to prevent childrens access
I have a young child who is able to access content on my accounts, it would be good to have a facial unlock feature or just a password lock.

Use Portal TV Camera to broadcast your own Facebook live.
The Portal TV Camera is an excellent product that has high resolution imaging, and I love the feature that t follows you in the room. However, an amazing feature would be to allow you to broadcast Facebook live videos from your Portal TV. The Advantage is having a large screen and camera that follows you, while you can sit with your laptop and read comments during the video. Please add Facebook Live Broadcasting to Portal TV !!!
