An error occurred while saving the comment Gaurav Kale commentedThere is some evil half wit at Facebook who loves deleting features from Portal. I hope this clown is fired. Loss of casting feature is not acceptable. This will be my last Portal device I got.

An error occurred while saving the comment Gaurav Kale commentedThey had these nice games you could play with your friends and family: https://i.imgur.com/5qmfIjJ.jpg but in a very mean-spirited move, they removed all of them in March 2021.

An error occurred while saving the comment Gaurav Kale commentedThe Gen 1 has this. Gen 2 doesn't. FB removed video out via HDMI as they want to sell you Portal TV model.
An error occurred while saving the comment Gaurav Kale commentedI was able to connect it to my monitor and TV using a USB-C to HDMI video out cable. However audio continues to come thru the Portal's speakers only. Also the camera still being there on the Portal it is weird. Instead it's better to get a Portal TV.
An error occurred while saving the comment Gaurav Kale commentedIt already has a USB-C port with video out via HDMI or DisplayPort. However imagine the scenario. The high quality Smart Camera is still on the Portal. If you connect it to a TV and look at the TV screen, you can't look at the Portal Camera unless you place the Portal right in front of the TV. Even then it would be weird because you can either look at the Portal camera or the TV.

An error occurred while saving the comment Gaurav Kale commentedWith a recent update to Portal standalone devices (not TV), they removed/broke manual pan and zoom completely for both Messenger and WhatsApp. All we are left with now is auto mode of the camera. So they are clearly headed in the opposite direction.
An error occurred while saving the comment Gaurav Kale commentedThe thing that is not satisfactory is why didn't Facebook design Portal TV with complete feature parity? The only difference should be the input model - touch interaction vs remote control. Apparently, you can pair a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard too with the Portal standalone devices - is this possible with the TV? There is no reason why core features like manual zoom should be unavailable on Portal TV. Please fix this, Facebook!

An error occurred while saving the comment Gaurav Kale commentedExactly. Being able to turn on Spotlight for other person is why I got Portal as they don't care about turning it on and move around the room, and now Facebook has taken it away. This is breach of trust. I will not be recommending Portal to anyone or buying any future Portals unless Spotlight is brought back the way it was.
