1. Make Portal work from Business Facebook Page

   I have a buisnes Facebook and a personal FB. I LOVE using my portal for business but I don't like giving my personal FB to just random people. I would much rather, if people are wanting to Video message me in buinsess it should be done from my business page and not my personal.

2. Activate Self-view While Not In Call

   Portal should provide a setting to activate the camera (i.e., Self View) while not in a call. This would be very useful for tasks such as framing, verifying field of view, troubleshooting, etc.

4. Allow more photos to be shown rather than select few. Currently have 300 photos but only seems to show a regular 20-30

5. Audio Input and Microphone Input For Portal

   I'm considering buying Portal, but it dos not meet my needs as a music instructor.

   I would like to recommend that you add an audio line Input and microphone Input to your Portal line? That would level-up the audio quality for doing a workshop and/or incorporating music!

6. Allow Portal + remote connection for approved loved one to switch on / off & have a WhatsApp account to use without having a mobile phone

   Mum is in a dementia nursing home without Family access due to Covid. She has no access to a mobile phone as too difficult to use. Being able to set up a WhatsApp account on Portal + despite this for others with WhatsApp accounts to video call would be a game changer. Also for an approved loved one to be able to switch on/off remotely & not be dependant on a Carer for help in the home who is busy caring elsewhere would make a huge difference. Then to be able to drop photos onto the Portal + remotely & stream music, both for the therapeutic / engagement abilities would be huge. Please Maybe you could ask Mark Zuckerberg how he could overcome this issue? Then you could ship loads of screens! :-)

7. join zoom call with voice commands

   The ability to join a Zoom call or Host a Zoom call with voice commands. Elderly users struggle with inputting meeting IDs and Passwords - especially Zoom requires upper case and lower case passwords characters requiring fine motor skill with fingers which many Elderly struggle with - either loss of feeling or shaky hands - voice commands are the lifeline to family - please add this feature.

8. Fix the Alexa settings for activation word and language settings

   Right now changing the language or trying to change the activation word in the Alexa settings does not work. So, bilingual households cannot use Alexa with the Portal device.

10. Stop removing features!!

    Facebook is scum. Just like Skype, they have started removing several nice features with an "update" once they've lured you to their device/service.

    I got Facebook Portal last fall and suddenly they have started deleting features for no apparent reason.

    • Can no longer manually zoom in/zoom out and pan around the screen. Camera "auto" decides for you

    • Can no longer choose which person to focus on in a group video call. It automatically switches on its own using some random algorithm.

    • Can no longer transfer calls between Portal and FB Messenger on your phone

    • YouTube app gone and ability to cast to Portal from YouTube on phone also gone

    • Some nice apps like Great Big Story for short documentaries deleted

    • Setting to route calls to Portal when you're home and to phone when you're out is deleted

    Many people aren't even aware these features existed because they are gone before they could use them

    Have you heard of making things OPTIONAL, Facebook when you do these stupid changes to the Portal's software?

    It won't hurt to give the user an option whom to focus on in a group call. It won't hurt to allow user to manually zoom and pan again. That was one of the core selling points of Portal.

    Facebook Portal now has competition from Google's Nest Hub Max, Amazon's Echo Show, Lenovo Smart Display, and soon Zoom for Home and Microsoft Teams displays. Portal team has already pulled enough dick moves with their exceptionally bad software to push customers towards other brands. So don't think for one moment Facebook that you can get away with such moves or people's next device won't be yours.

    Allow remote access to the Portal settings via the APP so that us 'Kids' of 90 something-year-old parents can help sort issues which they cannot ( and just don't understand.)

    The Portal is marketed at an older demographic!

12. handoff facebook video chat between devices (desktop/mobile/portal)

    allow users to start a video all or Room on one device, and then pass it off to another device without disconnecting and creating a new chat session. For example, user starts a video chat on their desktop, and then passes off the video to the Portal in their living room, and then passes off to their mobile device where they can take it in the car when they leave the house.

13. Enable Portal use with Whatsapp WITHOUT need to also run WhatsApp on mobile phonefor

    If you are going to promote Portal as being suitable for "Grandparents" and capable of working with just a WhatsApp account, it must do so without the need to also be running WhatsApp on a mobile phone. If people (particularly elderly) are capable of using WhatsApp on a smartphone, they don't really have a need for Portal !

    Whats the difference in technology? American voice is not good to hear in the UK. Very poor selling something in UK that can only be used with American voice.

17. Post firmware changelog and app changelog to portal website

    Having a webpage for features suggestions is already a big step towards making this a unique "family &friends" device.

    But you need to provide a changelog for app and device firmware so that users are aware of the changes and settings added! Otherwise it causes a lot of confusion. Maybe you can show them in the portal about tab.

    For example I noticed that firmware 1.2.1 added transparency to the caller window.. It took me to days and a reset to realize that this was a feature!

18. Ability to restart Portal without unplugging it

    At the moment the only way to restart Portal (ie. power down) is to change the language type in settings or unplug the physical device itself.
    I've had two Portals now where Alexa becomes unresponsive and restarting seems to be the only fix.
    (I'm guessing this bug is related to having multiple portal users or multiple Alexas in the house and I'm hoping it will be fixed in a later update.)
    
    that said having an option in settings or "hey portal" command to reboot Portal would be a benefit, even if its just to clear Ram and keep Portal running nice and smoothly.

    At the moment the only way to restart Portal (ie. power down) is to change the language type in settings or unplug the physical device itself.

    I want my super frame to stay on and only sleep when I want it to. This doesn't work for my Mom who has Alzheimers and can't remember how to turn it back on after the, only 1 hour, turn off time.
