As always, thanks so much to everyone who voted for this idea! As part of a recent software update, the ability to move the self-view window during a call has been added to Portal, Potal+, and Portal Mini devices. Simply touch your self-view and drag it to another corner of the screen! As this functionality is not available on Portal TV at this time, we will be marking this idea as started. Thanks and enjoy!

I couldn't agree more! I have a funny feeling FB are planning to rip us off with a pro version being released as there does not seem to be any other plausible explanation as to why things like Facebook Live and Zoom are already included with Portal touch devices and not TV.
A very dangerous route to go down. I'm also not quite sure why we have bought the product now at full cost and yet we have become their research and development panel without any remuneration. This is pretty arrogant - a product should not be released until it is found to be satisfactory by it's target audience and it's not like FB are stuck for a few quid.
At the most innocent end of possible explanations for why Portal TV is found so wanting, it is possible that they totally misinterpreted their target audience as if incorporating portal into the TV would be a scaled back version for older people who might be less likely to buy a tablet like device BUT Apple have already captured older people fair and square with the iPad.
Given privacy concerns that Facebook have clearly identified as their number one threat to the success of their Facebook Portal group of products, it is shocking that they have released a product without either enough r&d or they have deliberately left out key functionality to try and sell a pro version at a later date.
I find it disconcerting that Facebook have not committed to releasing the missing functionality on the same generation of devices/class of devices and there is a real consumer risk that we will all be left with products that we can't return to upgrade to the newer version thus paying for their r&d on the cheap.
